A new restaurant coming to Magazine Street will no longer bear the name of French Quarter mainstay Doris Metropolitan after a disagreement between the owners got litigious.

Last month, Doris Metropolitan founder Doron Rebi-Chia announced plans to open Doris Metropolitan Studio , which his team says was still under development. He planned to open in the former Son of a Bun location on Magazine Street in partnership with Tal's Hummus owner Tal Sharon.

But last week it soft-opened as Studio , with plans to be fully operational by Oct. 4 for the Magazine Street Merchant Association event , Art for Art's Sake .

Sharon said that since Rebi-Chia started Doris Metropolitan, the pair thought to use the name on their new venture.
