(NewsNation) — Actress Jane Fonda shared memories of her former co-star Robert Redford following news of his death this week at the age of 89.
"It hit me hard this morning when I read that Bob was gone. I can’t stop crying," Fonda said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.
Fonda continued, saying Redford “meant a lot” to her, calling him “a beautiful person in every way” who “stood for an America we have to keep fighting for.”

Fonda and Redford starred in seven films together, spanning from the 1960s to 2017. The pair made their big-screen debut together in the 1960 film Tall Story.
