Despite a lackluster start to his 2025 NFL season in Week 1, it appears that 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams still is good at his job.
Per Pro Football Focus, Williams was one of 11 players at his position with a minimum of 20 snaps to allow zero quarterback pressures in Week 2, providing stellar protection for Mac Jones in San Francisco’s 26-21 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Williams’ strong performance was especially encouraging considering he entered Sunday questionable to play with a bone bruise in his knee.
It also laid some doubts to rest after the 11-time Pro Bowl selection’s subpar showing in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, when he allowed six pressures, his most in a single game as a 49er.
