After backup quarterback Mac Jones stepped in for the injured Brock Purdy , leading San Francisco to a 26-21 victory by throwing for three touchdowns , Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd suggested that — to some extent — it doesn’t matter who calls signals for Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
“The good news for San Francisco: they now have two quarterbacks that work,” Cowherd said on FS1’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Monday. “One’s probably overpaid and one’s absolutely underpaid. But this is what Kyle Shanahan does.”
