MINNEAPOLIS — Another candidate has entered the race to replace Mary Moriarty as the top prosecutor for the state's most populous county.
On Wednesday, Hao Nguyen announced he is officially running for Hennepin County Attorney.
According to his campaign's news release, Nguyen has been a prosecutor for over 15 years and is a "senior level manager at a major metro prosecutor's office" with over 300 employees.
Before going to law school, Nguyen served as a deputy sheriff and a police officer.
"I'm also an immigrant and refugee who was raised by a single mother of three. I know what it is like to come from humble beginnings. America gave us a great opportunity and a home," Hao stated in a campaign video released Wednesday.
