Augustana University is preparing for its third annual Critical Inquiry & Citizenship Colloquium to be held Saturday, Oct. 25.
This year’s featured speaker is Joy Buolamwini, a bestselling author, MIT researcher and founder of the Algorithmic Justice League, a Massachusetts nonprofit that raises awareness on the impacts of AI.
Buolamwini has researched facial recognition technology, advises world leaders on preventing AI harm, and shares her expertise in congressional hearings and with government agencies seeking to enact equitable and accountable AI policy, according to a press release from AU.
