KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - For the first time since the first week of June, Kansas City Royals left-hander Cole Ragans will pitch for the big league club.
Ragans, who went on the injured list more than three months ago with a left rotator cuff strain, was reinstated from the injured list on Wednesday and is the probable starter for the Royals’ second game against the Seattle Mariners.
He last pitched on June 5 in St. Louis. That night, Ragans pitched 3 innings and allowed 5 earned runs, 3 walks and hit a batter while throwing 78 pitches. It concluded a three-start stretch in which Ragans allowed 4 or more earned runs each time.
Prior to his return, Ragans made two rehab starts in Triple-A with the Omaha Storm Chasers.
