Henrico police identified the victim of a fatal crash that happened at midday Tuesday in Short Pump.

Around 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle crashed in a ditch on Kain Road near Willane Road. Officers and firefighters found a Hyundai Elantra in a creek near a small bridge. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, police identified the victim as Jasmine Senae Woody, 26, of Henrico.

Police said their early investigation shows the Hyundai was heading west on Kain Road when it left the road, hit a tree and struck a concrete pillar of the bridge. Police said speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
