Training camp is now in session.

The Maple Leafs officially will be back on the ice Thursday at the Ford Performance Centre, a day after the players had medicals and had their numerous promotional photos taken.

Speaking on Wednesday for media day were general manager Brad Treliving, coach Craig Berube, captain Auston Matthews and alternate captains John Tavares and Morgan Rielly.

“What excites me is I don’t have to hear ‘Core Four’ anymore,” Berube said, tongue partially in cheek. “Hopefully, I don’t have to hear it from you guys the whole season.”
