STATEWIDE -- The Public Utilities Commission has selected 5 projects that it says will deliver cost savings to Maine ratepayers.

They include one hydro project and four solar projects.

The selections were the result of a request for proposals to procure renewable energy projects that would reduce electricity costs for Maine customers with a preference for projects located on PFAS contaminated farmland.

Dan Burgess, director of the Governor’s Energy Office says quote “We welcome these selections by the PUC, which will deliver real savings for Maine ratepayers, strengthen energy security, and create good jobs across the state.
