JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A $1.9 million grant that was initially acquired to renovate the former Cambria-Rowe Business College building has expired, leaving the future of the space in question.
The money, first awarded in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, was made available to the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority to use on the building. Due to multiple changes and delays at the 221 Central Ave location, the funds have now passed their expiration date of June 30 without much progress being made, according to our media partners at The Tribune-Democrat.
The JRA board voted Tuesday, 4-0, to rescind the financial assistance award agreement that was awarded through the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration grant.
