In his opening statement to the House committee on Wednesday, FBI Director Kash Patel shighlighted the agency's success under his leadership by listing thousands of arrests and preempting criticism he had faced the day before in a Senate committee hearing. He said the U.S. is on track to produce the lowest murder rate in modern history "by double digits."
