A millennial pop-punk icon known for her trademark smoky eyes and head-bopping anthems is making her debut on the wine stage.
Avril Lavigne, the eight-time Grammy-nominated songstress of the early aughts, has partnered with Geyserville’s Banshee Wines to produce a limited-release Pinot Noir from Alexander Valley.
(Incidentally, Lavigne – or “la vigne” in French – means “vine” or “vineyard,” a detail my high school French teacher would be delighted to know I noticed on my own.)
Lavigne, who has sold 50 million albums worldwide, broke onto the music scene in 2002 with the hit single “Complicated.” The song catapulted the Canadian-born singer into the mainstream and has since been certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
