Jerry Greenfield , who co-founded Ben & Jerry's with Ben Cohen , has resigned from the beloved ice cream business.

Forty-seven years after founding the company, on Sept. 16, Greenfield wrote a letter addressed to the Ben & Jerry's community, explaining his decision to step down. Cohen shared the message in a Sept. 16 post on X .

“It’s with a broken heart that I’ve decided I can no longer, in good conscience, and after 47 years, remain an employee of Ben & Jerry’s,” he wrote, while adding tha
