After nearly 30 years in business, Pleasanton’s Main Street Brewery is closing its doors.

Sunday, Sept. 21, will be the final day of service as the owners, Sharon and Matt Billings, announced that they’re moving on to the next chapter of their lives.

“Serving you and your families has been one of the greatest joys,” the owners wrote on a goodbye Facebook post. “We’ve shared meals, music, laughter, and stories. Along the way, we’ve made everlasting friendships, people we will always remember, and times that we will never forget.”

The downtown pub and restaurant first opened in 1996 and has been serving house-brewed beer and pub fare, among other offerings. Local bands have been playing live music there regularly as well, with many of the bands commenting on the Facebook
