Stephen Luscombe, the co-founder and keyboardist of influential British new wave band Blancmange, has died at age 70, Parade reports.
Luscombe’s longtime bandmate and friend Neil Arthur, 67, confirmed the death in an emotional Facebook post Sunday featuring a black-and-white photo of the musician.
“Heartbroken. RIP Stephen. Love you forever,” Arthur wrote in the brief tribute.
The keyboardist’s passing on Saturday comes more than a decade after health issues forced him to step away from music.
In 2011, shortly after Blancmange released their reunion album “Blanc Burn,” Luscombe suffered an abdominal aortic aneurysm that ended his musical career while Arthur continued performing under the band name, Parade noted.
