When Kenneth Walker III scored on a 3rd-and goal from the 19-yard line late in the Steelers’ loss to the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon, it was the first time in NFL history a player scored on a run on third or fourth down from 19 yards or more in a goal-to-go situation.

That’s not the type of historic defense Mike Tomlin was hoping for when he confidently stated this summer this unit had the potential to be one of his best in his nearly two-decade tenure as coach.

Adding insult to injury, Walker waltzed into the end zone untouched. It was a fitting end to the day for the Steelers defense.

The Seahawks made it look far too easy far too often throughout the game. The Steelers say many of Seattle’s big plays came as a result of poor communication on their part.
