The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 2025-26 Orchestral Season on Sept. 18 with "Pictures at an Exhibition" in the Raising Cane's River Center Performing Arts Theater, 300 St. Louis St.
The symphony's music director and conductor, Adam Johnson, will take the podium at 7:30 p.m. to conduct this Modest Mussorgsky piece of 16 movements depicting his walk through an art exhibition.
To add an extra dimension to this event, the symphony has partnered with Baton Rouge Gallery, which has installed an exhibit in the River Center Theater lobby, where guests can mingle and look at the artwork before the concert.
The concert, itself, will begin with Mikhail Glinka's "Ruslan and Lyudmila" Overture, followed by Maurice Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G Major," featuring pianist Henry Krame
