OCEAN CITY — Those who want a seat on the Zoning Board of Adjustment should expect an interview with City Council.
Last week, council approved an ordinance amending the process for appointing members to the Zoning Board, calling for a notice advertising the position to be posted to the city’s website for at least 30 days and a closed-door interview with candidates for the job.
Members of council did not say much before the vote, but in May, some members asked for changes after the appointment of an alternate member to the board, seeking to consider more candidates for open positions.
There was no comment from residents during the public hearing on the ordinance, which passed in a unanimous vote.
