GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office reports Carolina High School has been cleared, and no weapons were found after the school was placed on lockdown after a student reported another student to possibly be in possession of a gun on campus around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies report making contact with the student and that a weapon was not located. Deputies searched the school, and all students were sent through weapons detection system known as EVOLV.

The school principal Jeremy Carrick sent the following statement:

Carrick later said law enforcement released the hold on the campus and that nothing unusual was found.
