HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — On Tuesday, it was announced that Marshall University President and his wife Alys would be gifting the university $50 million — the largest financial contribution in the institution’s history.
The contribution will help further fund the Marshall For All program. Marshall For All was launched in 2023 with a goal of giving everyone interested in college a chance to obtain a four-year degree without debt.
“We look for qualifying families who make $65,000 or less. We get all the federal and state money that they are qualified for, and then we privately fund the last dollar in,” Smith said Wednesday on MetroNews “Talkline.”
