Leaders of several El Paso neighborhood associations have joined together as the El Paso Streets Coalition to oppose the Texas Department of Transportation’s $1.3 billion plan to expand and remake an almost six-mile segment of Interstate 10 through Downtown El Paso and its edges.
The coalition announced its opposition at a near conference Tuesday, Sept. 16, outside the Downtown convention center, where TxDOT held an open house public hearing on its recently released Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Downtown I-10 project — one of the last steps in making the project a reality.
