A vandal’s tag that may cost taxpayers upwards of $50,000 was found in a second location recently.
Barrington Police said someone noticed “TE 25” scrawled on the sewer pumping station near Police Cove Park on Tuesday, Sept. 9. It was that same mark that Rhode Island Department of Transportation officials found on sections of the new East Bay Bike Path bridge spanning the Warren River. Officials told police it could cost more than $50,000 to clean up the graffiti on the new bridge.
Barrington Police did not say how much it could cost to clean up the sewer pumping station. In fact, the chore will likely fall to the Barrington Department of Public Works — police officers notified the DPW of the vandalism.
