Judge William H. Burris sentenced 37-year-old Tomarcus Porter on Sept. 12 after a jury convicted him of battery of a correctional officer. The verdict came June 10 at the end of a two-day trial.
Testimony showed that during a security round at Rayburn, a correctional officer gave instructions to Porter, who ignored the order. Instead, Porter reached into his toilet, grabbed a handful of feces and flung it at the officer, striking him in the face, arm and leg.
