Three police officers were killed and two were injured in a shooting in York County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher L. Paris said in a news conference.
The two injured officers are in critical but stable condition at the hospital, Paris said.
The gunman died after being shot by police, Paris said.
Paris said police are investigating but do not believe there is any threat to the community. The scene is still active, he said.
The incident happened just after 2 p.m. near the 1800 block of Haar Road in Codorus Township, south of York.
WellSpan Hospital in York is on lockdown, CBS 21 in Harrisburg reports . The York County coroner also confirmed to CBS 21 that they were called to the scene of the incident.
