DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The family of Christian Black, the young man whose death in Montgomery County Jail was ruled a homicide, is filing a lawsuit against NaphCare, the company responsible for providing healthcare services at the jail, and the numerous nurses and other employees who were at the jail when he died.

Black was a 25-year-old young man from Zanesville who was being held in jail after he crashed an allegedly stolen car and attempted to flee.

Black suffered deadly injuries while in police custody on March 24 and died a few days later.

The complaint alleges that NaphCare puts profits over the incarcerated people they are entrusted to care for. It alleges the nurses on the scene during the incident mishandled the situation and ignored
