MAINE, USA — Maine's fall colors are off to a slower start this year, with state officials reporting less than 10 percent change statewide in the latest foliage update.
The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry released its second fall foliage report on Wednesday, showing very little color change and leaf drop across the state.
Peak foliage in northern Maine typically arrives between late September and the first week of October, while central, western, and southern regions usually follow by mid-October, the department said. Coastal areas often see peak conditions from mid- to late October.
