EastEnders viewers declared they 'can't believe it' as Jay Brown's departure was revealed following actor Jamie Borthwick's removal from the show.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Jamie would not be reprising his role on the BBC soap after nearly two decades portraying Jay. The character became renowned for his relationship with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), who tragically passed away from cancer in devastating scenes during 2023.

In June, the 31 year old Jamie faced a three-month suspension from EastEnders for employing a disability slur.
