RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) -- New campaign finance reports are giving us a glimpse into where things stand just days before early voting begins in Virginia.

In the race for governor, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger has $12.2 million on hand. That’s compared to her Republican opponent, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, who has just under $5 million to spend in the campaign’s final weeks.

“Having that advantage means you can just make sure there's not a single voter in the Commonwealth who hasn't at least heard your name and gotten some kind of message from you,” Randolph-Macon Political Science Professor Rich Meagher told 8News.
