PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Three people were arrested when an investigation revealed they had been involved in embezzling from a high school's booster club.

Brandy Spivey Karr, Scottie Ray Karr, and Shaun Ray Karr were arrested by Pickens County deputies Wednesday after the School District of Pickens County reported discrepancies following a review of the Liberty High School's booster club.

The investigating began with Brandy, the now-former Treasurer of the Red Devil Athletic Booster Club. A significant amount of money was discovered to have been embezzled during Brandy's time as treasurer, deputies said.

Detectives also charged two co-defendants as conspirators in the investigation, according to deputies.
