HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn.) visited the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford Wednesday to highlight the steps his administration has taken to prepare Connecticut schools to respond in the event U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcment (ICE) agents show up looking for a student — even as school officials and the Trump administration say such actions are not taking place.

On the day after then-candidate Donald Trump won back the presidency, Lamont expressed concern that students in the country illegally might not show up for class out of fear that the new president might try to deport them.
