CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Jeremy Mandell has owned a home in south Charlotte for 18 years, and says he never had any problems.

That is, until his sewer line burst in October 2024.

“I had major sewage coming up that affected both my toilets and my showers,” Mandell said. “I had to call the plumber to get them to come out.”

Mandell said that the problem with the sewage line cost him nearly $1,000 to fix.

“They had to run a snake 100 yards that went all the way to the end of the property,” Mandell said.

Then, it happened again in January.

“Both the toilets and the showers were coming up with debris from the sewage, and I had to have the plumber come back, who then told me that it needed to be excavated,” Mandell said.
