The Ohio State University in Columbus is being federally sued by the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio following the expulsion of Guy Christensen from the school following statements made on social media about Israel and Palestine.

ACLU of Ohio, which announced the lawsuit in a press release on Sept. 17, said the punishment was unconstitutional and accused the university of singling out one particular viewpoint for censorship.

It also alleged that Christensen’s First Amendment rights of free speech were violated was as he was simply participating in protected political speech. The ACLU also noted that his 14th Amendment right of due process was violated because he was disenrolled from Ohio State without a hearing.
