ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A woman has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for operating a brothel in Buckhead, according to the Department of Justice.

Jamika Weese, 42, operated the brothel in a Buckhead apartment between 2017 and 2019, the DOJ said. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office raided the apartment in 2019 and found evidence that Weese posted advertisements online and took more than half of the women’s earnings for herself.

She arranged for women to travel to Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, Texas and Florida “for her own financial benefit,” according to the DOJ.

Weese was arrested in 2019 but released. She was rearrested in 2023 after fraudulently obtaining an Economic Injury and Disaster Loan and a Paycheck Protection Program loan, according to the DOJ.
