ANGIE, La. (WGNO) — A prisoner at the Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie was sentenced to life in prison for throwing feces at a correctional officer.
According to the 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office, 37-year-old Tomarcus Porter was found guilty by a jury of committing battery on a correctional officer.
DA's office officials said an officer at the prison gave an instruction to Porter while making security rounds. Court documents state that Porter instead reached into his toilet, grabbed a handful of feces, and flung it at the officer, striking him on his face, arm and leg. A second officer who had approached was struck on the head and shoulder.
Additional staff was summoned and subdued Porter.
