Lysander, N.Y. — A delivery driver was arrested Wednesday morning after refusing to pay two mechanics and firing a gun into the air, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said 28-year-old Gilberto Castro, of Kentucky, was making deliveries in a white box truck when it broke down around 3 a.m. in Lysander, according to a news release from Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Two mechanics responded to help, but Castro told them their services were no longer needed, deputies said.

When the mechanics asked to be paid for their time, Castro refused to pay them. He then pulled a handgun from his backpack and fired one shot into the air, deputies said.
