PROVO — Robert Redford, the legendary actor, director and environmental advocate, died at the age of 89. Redford passed away in his sleep early Tuesday morning at his home in Provo, according to family.
Known for his roles in cinematic classics like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President’s Men and Ordinary People — which earned him an Academy Award for Best Director — Redford also left a lasting legacy in Utah through his founding of the Sundance Institute and Resort .
