MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Some of the cats that were rescued from a U-Haul van in Merced County will soon be available for adoption.
The Merced County Sheriff's Office's Animal Services Bureau said that 32 of the Persian cats that were rescued from a U-Haul van in July from Santa Nella remain in their care.
Officials said that the cats are receiving daily medical treatment, nourishment and compassionate attention from the staff and veterinary team.
In the coming weeks, five of the Persian cats in their care will be ready for adoption, with more expected to follow as their recovery continues.
Officials said that some will require ongoing medical support and they are seeking adopters who can provide both the love and ext
