DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One man is dead and a woman was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County on Wednesday morning.
According to the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. on State Route 66 at Fessler Buxton Road, in Loramie Township.
The initial investigation found a 2006 Nissan Altima, driven by 82-year-old William Seipel, from Houston, Ohio, was heading south on State Route 66. A 2015 Dodge Caravan, driven by a 74-year-old woman from Piqua, was heading west on Fessler Buxton Road. Officials said the Caravan failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the Nissan.
Seipel died on the scene from his injuries.
The 74-year-old woman was taken by Spirit EMS to the Upper Valley Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
