The Baltimore City Council has advanced a bill aimed to protect victims at fire scenes.
Baltimore City Councilwoman Odette Ramos introduced the bill, which would apply to situations such as a house fire. The measure is aimed at protecting families impacted by those trying to solicit restoration services.
The bill requires the fire chief to identify and establish boundaries around incidents. It also establishes penalties including a fine and or jail time for those who do not obey.
The bill is expected to be up for a full vote at the next city council council meeting.
