When it was initially revealed that Brock Purdy was dealing with a turf toe injury, it was initially expected that Purdy would miss several games at a minimum. But according to San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, Purdy seems to be ahead of schedule in rehabbing the injury.

Fortunately for the 49ers, Purdy's absence wasn't as debilitating to the 49ers' success as many expected. In the team's Week 2 game without Purdy, veteran backup Mac Jones played exceptionally well, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

While Jones' performance was certainly impressive, most 49ers fans still believe that Purdy gives the team the best chance to win when he is healthy.
