A leading developmental psychologist has expressed concern over the grave fears many children hold about climate change, suggesting the controversial issue is being engrained into kids from an early age.

Labor has come under mounting criticism over its climate change and renewables agenda since the release of the National Climate Risk Assessment – which warned of major potential environmental and financial impacts for Australia going forward.

Costing taxpayers just under $23 million, the report has been labelled a "complete waste” and a “scare campaign” by Nationals Senator Matt Canavan amid heated debate across the political spectrum.
