KINGSTON, N.Y. – Residents have given 176-38 approval to a $1.23 million 2026 Kingston Library budget property tax levy carrying a 6% increase of $69,687.

Voting on Tuesday will allow the library to operate under a planned $1.47 million budget, carrying a 4.92% increase of $69,187.

Uncontested library board seats with three-year terms were won by incumbent Trustees Laura Brown with 177 votes, Lisa Lerner with 171 votes, and Gerard Harrington with 162 votes.

Changes in the budget include:

• Library Director expenses at $111,811 for a 6.17% increase of $6,903.

• Support staff costs at $898,336 for a 2.83% increase of $24,732.

• Materials and programs at $147,500 for a 12.6% increase of $16,500.

• Furniture and equipment at $5,000 for a 66.67% increase of $2,000.
