BANGOR -- State and city officials met with potential developers Wednesday to discuss possible efforts to rehabilitate Bangor's once lively mall.

The city was recently contacted by a national developer that is involved in multiple mall construction projects across the country.

Over the last decade the Bangor Mall has seen a dramatic decline in visitation and overall economic value. The owners of the mall, Namdar Realty Group, are currently in an ongoing legal battle with the city over varying code violations.

State and city officials have been collaborating to find a way to move the mall in a more positive direction.

They have now started the process of meeting with potential developers to see different plans that have already been successfully done in other states.
