AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - An arrest warrant for murder charges has been issued in connection to a 20 years-long cold case in the murder of Catrina Beatrice Evans, a mother who was stabbed to death in her Augusta apartment in 2005.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, a warrant has been obtained for 56-year-old Juan Renardo Chunn.
On August 20, 2005, deputies responded to 2445 Amsterdam Drive, Apartment 13-C, where they discovered Evans deceased from multiple stab wounds. Evans' one-year-old child was also located, and was found alive.
In July 2025, the case was reviewed, and a palm print found near the victim’s body was resubmitted to the GBI Department of Forensic Science Crime Lab. According to RCSO, the lab determined the palm print was that of Juan Renaldo Til
