CHILLICOTHE, Ill. (WMBD) -- A lifelong Peoria County resident announced his plans to run for U.S. Congress on Wednesday.
Garth Gullette said in a news release that he plans to challenge incumbent Rep. Darin LaHood for Illinois' 16th Congressional District during the Republican primary on March 17, 2026.
Gullette said he is an independent-minded conservative Republican, and his campaign will be focused on accountability, economic dignity and real representation for Peoria County and the broader district.
