Emergency workers at Huntsville International Airport geared up for the worst-case scenario by participating in a disaster simulation. The full-scale drill, which is required by the Federal Aviation Administration every three years, involved more than 300 first responders and volunteers.
Chris Scott, the airport's chief of public safety, emphasized the importance of these exercises. "Rarely do all of our different players and participants get to come together in an exercise of this size and work together as a team," Scott said. "So really the communication, the collaboration piece between different agencies is a great opportunity for us to practice that."
