HUMNOKE, Ark. — Arkansas farmers are struggling, and now, leaders in Washington, D.C., say that they want to help.

It’s been just over two weeks since hundreds of Arkansas farmers packed into a church in Brookland to share the obstacles that they’ve been navigating.

“Farmers face a plethora of challenges these days,” said Tyler Oxner of the Arkansas Farm Bureau. “That could be anywhere from crop prices to input prices to weather.”

Oxner knows what he’s talking about, as the Farm Bureau works with thousands of farmers every year.

However, of the challenges he mentioned, one stands out.

“The input prices are going up steadily,” Oxner described. “Commodity prices just haven't been able to keep pace with those.”
