LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -At Mitten Misfits Farm Sanctuary near Grand Ledge, abandoned, abused and unwanted farm animals can safely live out their lives, and if they don’t have a leg to stand on, they get that too.
A perfect example, Tilly the Nubian goat, who had to have part of her left front leg amputated after it got caught in a fence.
Mitten Misfits founder Vic Worthy says the solution was simple, get Tilly a prosthetic leg.
“I knew I wanted to get her one, and I found Josh, and it’s been about three weeks and we have a prosthetic,” Worthy says.
The Josh she’s referring to is Josh Ahlstrom, a medical device specialist who travels the world fitting children with prosthetics, but six years ago founded Arc-Ortho, specializing in prosthetic limbs for animals.
