LA PLACE, Ill. (WAND) — One driver is dead and another is in the hospital after a crash on Illinois Route 32 Wednesday.

It happened at the intersection of IL 32 and US Route 36 around 10:45 a.m.

Illinois State Police said a semi-truck was driving down IL 32 when it's trailer was hit by a semi going down US 36.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, where one of them died.

The intersection was closed until around 4:30 p.m.
